Ganapathy (or Ganesha) embodies vision and initiative, the qualities that allow humanity to envision a future that may not yet exist and take action toward realizing it. Vision is the ability to see beyond current circumstances, to picture a reality where things are improved—like imagining a world without poverty, where all have enough food, water, and shelter. This ability to foresee and work toward future goals requires initiative, the drive to overcome obstacles and start the journey toward change. Ganapathy, with his human body and elephant head, symbolizes this idea: what may seem impossible or unreal today can be visualized and worked towards in the future.
